Contest Details: 

Design a logo for the 2026 Char Summit for a chance to win a $1,000 honorarium! Logos can be any design format (hand drawn, graphically designed, etc.), but must be submitted digitally in high-resolution PNG or JPEG format.  

Contest Rules: 

• Logo must be submitted in PNG or JPEG format

• The logo must be received by email by September 10th, 2025

• The logo must include the following: 

• • The words “2026 Char Summit” 

• • Gwich’in and Inuvialuktun words for Char: “Dhik’ii” and “Ikalukpik” 

• • An image depicting char (Dolly Varden Char and/or Arctic Char) 

• • Connection to one or more summit themes: 

• • • Changing Distribution 

• • • Changing Fisheries 

• • • Habitats and Environmental Change 

• • • Fish Health  

• • • Population and Abundance 

Criteria for Judging: 

We are looking for a logo that is creative, memorable and captures the theme(s) of the 2026 Char Summit. The logo must be an original design and will be judged equally based on the following categories: 

• Relevance to theme(s)  

• Creativity 

• Visual Impact 

Preference will be given to those who are Gwich’in participants, Inuvialuit beneficiaries, or residents of the Western Arctic. 

How to Enter: 

Please submit your logo entry to asallans@grrb.nt.ca by September 10th, 2025. Logos must be submitted in PNG or JPEG format. No more than two logos may be submitted per person. 

The following information must be submitted with the logo: 

• Artist’s name 

• Community 

• Contact phone number and email address (if under 18, artist’s parent’s/guardians’ name and contact information should be provided)

Please note: 

• Only the artist of the logo selected to be used for the Char Summit will receive the $1,000 honorarium

• The winning logo artist must agree that while they will be recognized for their artwork, the logo image will be assigned ownership to the GRRB by assignment of copyright and will be owned, used and re-purposed by the GRRB and partners
